Administrator

The Administrator's role is to handle the daily operations and logistics of Staff Council operations and communications, and to provide support to councilors in the course of the council's business.  The Administrator works closely with the Executive Committee and the chairs of Standing and Special Committees throughout the year.  

The Staff Council Administrator is defined by the Staff Council By-Laws, Article IV: Administrative Support thus:

  1. Serve as ex-officio, non-voting member of the Staff Council for the purpose of keeping minutes and attendance records.
  2. The administrative support person may vote in Staff Council elections but may not serve as an elected member on the Council.
  3. Provide a written record of motions as presented or amended during meetings; read same to Council at the request of the Speaker. Send summarized minutes of prior meeting, agenda, and related documents to all Councilors five working days before the next meeting.
  4. Provide orientation and training on Council procedures for new members of the Council and for Committeemembers.
  5. Perform other duties as directed by the President or the Staff Council.

The Administrator also plays a role in tracking membership of committees, resignations, and in determining quorum.

This staff position is funded and supervised by UNM Institutional Support Services.
