What is Alt text and why do I need to know? 

Alt text describes images with text for those unable to view them. Adding alt text to your documents and emails improves accessibility. Want to know how? The Staff Council Communications & Marketing Committee has made it easy for you! Check out “SC MarCom Committee Alt Tags” that has instructions on how to add alt text to word and .pdf documents, and outlook emails for both Mac and PC users. Want to do more to make your materials accessible? Simply find and run the ‘Accessibility Checker’ in whatever program your working in, most have them!
