2016 Gerald W. May Outstanding Staff Award Recipients

The Office of the President and the Staff Council are pleased to announce the 2016 recipients of the Gerald W. May Outstanding Staff Award! At the time UNM President Gerald W. May created this presidential award for staff he said, "Staff is critical to the success of our University, and the recipients of this award are notable because they all lead by their example."
 
Congratulations to April Davidson, Academic Operations Officer in the School of Engineering, Manuel Martinez, Custodian in the Physical Plant Department, Yolanda Martinez, Department Administrator A2 in the Department of History, Luis Rocha, Coordinator of Education Support in the Honors College and Patricia Ann Young, Police Officer in the UNM Police Department. To be selected for this prestigious award is truly an honor and achievement.
 
The Staff Council would like to cordially invite the campus community to join President Frank and Staff Council Representatives at a ceremony honoring this year's recipients on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the SUB, Ballroom C.
 
The Staff Council would also like to extend a personal invitation to all past recipients of the Gerald W. May Outstanding Staff Award to be our special guest at the ceremony honoring this year's recipients. Let us celebrate as we add five more names to the perpetual plaque that hangs in Scholes Hall! This year's celebration will be extra special as we commemorate 25 years of recognizing staff (1991 - 2016).
